Job Description
Job Summary:
The Receiving Clerk is responsible for accepting, inspecting, stocking, and transferring deliveries. The position involves attention to detail, the ability to use inventory software, and strong organizational skills.Essential Functions:
- Operates forklifts and hand trucks as needed
- Assists in unloading shipments from delivery truck
- Opens boxes and inspects contents of shipments
- Checks shipping invoice to ensure all items are accurate
- Performs all computer functions necessary to track and store incoming product
- Reports damaged or questionable items to the supervisor and purchaser
- Ensures the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition
- Participates in all Inventory validation
- Follows all safety guidelines
- Develop and maintain Receiving Reports
- Examines and unpack incoming shipments; record and reports shortages
- Routes items to various departments
- Monitors the returns process
- Performs other assigned duties as needed Skill Set/Knowledge Required Strong work ethic, ability to work independently, as a team member and a team leader Strong oral & written communication skills, ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
