Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and dependable person to join our team! The General Laborer for Brick & Thin Brick Packaging is responsible for safely and efficiently handling, inspecting, sorting, and packaging thin brick and face brick products in a manufacturing environment. This position requires close attention to product quality and the ability to identify defects and ensure finished products meet established size, color, shape, texture, and quality standards. Responsibilities Unload bricks from conveyors and railcars while inspecting products for visible defects or damage. Assist with the bundling and packaging process, ensuring bricks are placed in the correct sequence to help prevent chipping and product damage. Visually inspect brick products and use touch and sound, when appropriate, to identify defects or inconsistencies. Measure product length using gauges and other approved measuring devices to verify conformance with specifications. Compare product color, shape, texture, and overall appearance against established quality standards. Sort products according to size, color, shape, grade, or other specified requirements. Identify and remove defective or non-conforming products from the production process for reuse or appropriate disposition. Maintain awareness of product quality throughout the packaging and handling process. Handle brick products carefully to minimize chipping, breakage, and other damage. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements. Follow production, quality, and packaging procedures and communicate quality concerns to the appropriate supervisor or team member. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Ability to differentiate between colors and identify differences in product color. Ability to recognize differences in product size, shape, texture, and appearance. Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Ability to work as part of a team while maintaining productivity and quality standards. Ability to safely handle and move brick products throughout the production and packaging process.
