Index Packaging is a growing manufacturing company with four New Hampshire facilities and over 200 employees dedicated to delivering high-quality custom packaging solutions. We're looking for a dependable Loader to join our trucking and shipping team. This is an active, hands-on position that involves working both indoors and outdoors throughout the year. If you have experience loading trucks, operating forklifts or material handling equipment, and are comfortable working in a busy shipping environment, this could be a great fit.
What You'll Do:
As a Loader, you'll help keep our trucking and shipping operations moving by safely loading and unloading trucks, preparing shipments, and moving trailers and materials throughout the facility and yard.
Daily responsibilities may include:
Loading and unloading dry vans, flatbeds, and box trucks. Operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment. Verifying materials and shipments against shipping documents to ensure orders are accurate. Moving, stacking, and organizing materials throughout the warehouse, loading docks, trucks, trailers, and yard. Securing shipments to help prevent damage during transportation. Operating a yard truck and backing 53-foot trailers onto loading docks. Moving materials between company buildings and loading areas. Supporting shipping and receiving activities as needed. Keeping work areas clean, organized, and safe. Following company safety procedures and wearing required PPE.
What We're Looking For:
We're looking for someone who is dependable, safety-conscious, and comfortable working independently as well as part of a team.
Helpful experience includes:
Warehouse, distribution, shipping and receiving, or loading experience. Forklift and pallet jack operation. Yard truck or tractor experience. Experience backing trailers onto loading docks. Material handling and inventory experience.
You should be comfortable with:
Operating a yard truck and backing a 53-foot trailer onto a loading dock. Working outdoors in the yard year-round in varying weather conditions. Working in warehouse, loading dock, truck, and trailer environments. Following shipping documents and work instructions accurately. Basic math and inventory counting. Staying active throughout the workday.
Physical Requirements:
This is an active position that requires: Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and stacking. Regular lifting up to 50 lbs. Team lifting for heavier loads. Working both indoors and outdoors throughout the year. Working outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow.
