Job Description

Job Title:
Material Handler Job Description Responsibilities Work 50+ hours per week with a 5:00 AM start time, with limited flexibility for the right candidate. Physically move and handle materials and products throughout the facility, including lifting items up to 50 lbs and moving 12-foot copper bus bar and other heavy shop materials onto racking systems. Assist department leads with paperwork and basic data collection, including scanning forms, checking time records, and completing shop documentation. Perform inventory control tasks, including cycle counts every two weeks to help maintain accurate stock levels. Support each department on an as-needed basis by bringing required materials, tools, and supplies to work areas. Clean and organize departmental areas as needed, including discarding trash and putting away materials and tools. Assist in holding, hoisting, and moving materials using appropriate equipment and safe handling practices. Use basic computer systems and RF scanners to support material tracking, shipping and receiving, and data entry tasks. Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and overhead cranes, as required and if trained. Follow all safety procedures and shop guidelines while performing repetitive labor duties in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Complete other duties as assigned in each department to support overall production efficiency. Essential Skills Ability to perform repetitive physical labor, including safely lifting up to 50 lbs and moving long and heavy materials such as 12-foot copper bus bar. Experience in material handling or general labor in a warehouse or manufacturing environment. Basic computer skills, including scanning forms, checking clock-in and clock-out times, and entering data on shop paperwork. Experience with inventory control and performing regular cycle counts, ideally every two weeks or on a recurring schedule. Basic math skills to support inventory, counting, and documentation tasks. Aptitude to train on new tasks and a strong willingness to learn on the job. Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and support multiple departments as needed. Why Work Here? Work Environment The organization operates on a structured schedule with a 5:00 AM start time and expects 50+ hours of work per week, reflecting a busy production environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Burlington, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
