MATERIAL HANDLER SUMMARY

Responsible for the physical movement, storage, and control of materials and products within a warehouse or distribution center.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Load, unload, and move materials within the warehouse using various equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks. Keep track of inventory levels and assist in maintaining accurate records. Select items from storage locations based on order requirements and prepare them for shipment. Ensure that materials are handled and stored safely to prevent damage and report any discrepancies in inventory. Adhere to safety guidelines and procedures to maintain a safe working environment. Coordinate with team members, supervisors, and other departments to fulfill material requirements and resolve issues. Perform basic maintenance on material handling equipment to ensure proper functioning.

QUALIFICATIONS

Ability to lift and move heavy objects, stand for long periods, and perform physically demanding tasks. Accurate and detail-oriented to maintain precise inventory records. Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate well with colleagues. Efficiently organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines. Ability to identify and address issues related to material handling and inventory management. Willingness to adapt to changes in work assignments and schedules. Previous experience in a warehouse or material handling role may be preferred. Bilingual in English and Spanish.
