Job Title:
Material Handler Job Description This contract-to-hire Material Handler position supports a solar material yard by managing general warehouse activities and assembling solar tracking systems. You will handle materials, perform shipping and receiving tasks, and prepare components and kits for shipment to solar project sites while maintaining accurate inventory and following established control standards. Responsibilities Assist in the material handling and assembly of solar tracking systems in a warehouse and yard environment. Prepare materials and components for shipment to solar project sites, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Perform shipping and receiving duties, including loading and unloading materials and verifying documentation. Engage in assembly and kitting of raw materials in accordance with inventory control standards. Conduct regular cycle counts to maintain accurate inventory records. Support general warehouse operations, including packing, staging, and organizing materials. Unload incoming shipments safely and efficiently using appropriate tools and equipment. Follow established procedures and safety guidelines while working in a shared yard with multiple companies. Use hand tools and other basic equipment to complete assembly, kitting, and loading tasks. Coordinate with team members to ensure materials are available and ready for outbound shipments to solar project sites. Essential Skills Proficiency in general labor and material handling in a warehouse or yard environment. Experience with hand tools used for assembly and material handling tasks. Demonstrated experience in shipping and receiving processes, including loading and unloading. Capability to perform assembly and loading tasks accurately and efficiently. Strong skills in inventory control, including cycle counts and kitting. Ability to follow inventory control standards and warehouse procedures. Comfort working with solar tracking system components and related materials. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in a solar material yard located in Southwest Las Vegas, Nevada, within a shared yard that hosts multiple companies. You will work on-site Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., providing a stable daytime schedule. The work involves both indoor warehouse activities and outdoor yard tasks, including packing, unloading, loading, and handling solar tracking components. Safety is a core focus, and you will wear personal protective equipment at all times, including a hard hat, safety-toed boots, gloves, safety glasses, and a high-visibility vest. You will navigate a shared yard environment, remaining aware of site entrances and traffic while working around other companies' operations. The setting is hands-on and physically active, with frequent use of hand tools and regular interaction with shipping, receiving, assembly, kitting, and inventory control processes. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Las Vegas, NV. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
