Warehouse Worker Job Description The Warehouse Worker safely handles, moves, and stores materials in a fast-paced distribution environment. This role involves frequent heavy lifting, operating stand-up reach lifts and man-up order pickers, working around conveyors and other machinery, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. You will support daily warehouse operations by accurately picking, stocking, and moving truck parts and palletized loads while following strict safety procedures. Responsibilities Lift and move items weighing up to 75 pounds unassisted on a regular basis. Pull, push, and slide parts weighing up to 100 pounds unassisted as needed. Stoop, bend, twist, and reach frequently to access and handle materials. Reach into storage locations up to 38 inches deep to pull or stock truck parts accurately. Stand and/or walk for the entire work schedule, except during designated breaks and lunch periods. Operate stand-up reach lifts with a 4,000-pound lifting capacity and a total unloaded weight of 7,000 pounds, ensuring safe handling of a combined weight of over 11,000 pounds. Operate man-up order pickers to heights of up to 22 feet, with a 3,000-pound lifting capacity and an unloaded weight of over 7,000 pounds, for a combined loaded weight exceeding 10,000 pounds. Use powered equipment to lift and place pallet units to heights of up to 22 feet. Drive stand-up equipment safely in and out of trailers for loading and unloading activities. Work in close proximity to conveyors and other warehouse machinery while following all safety protocols. Perform order picking using RF scanners and related equipment to ensure accurate and timely fulfillment. Assist with packing, shipping, receiving, unloading, and general material handling tasks as required. Support inventory control by handling warehouse inventory and participating in shipping and receiving processes. Maintain a clean and orderly work area by performing housekeeping tasks such as sweeping and emptying trash. Follow all safety guidelines and operational procedures to protect yourself, coworkers, and equipment. Essential Skills Ability to lift and move up to 75 pounds unassisted. Ability to pull, push, and slide parts up to 100 pounds unassisted. Comfort with frequent stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching during the workday. Ability to stand and/or walk for 100% of the work schedule, excluding breaks and lunch. Experience operating stand-up reach lifts with heavy lifting capacities. Experience operating man-up order pickers to heights up to 22 feet. Ability to work safely around conveyors and other warehouse machinery. Ability to drive stand-up material handling equipment in and out of trailers. Capability to lift pallet units to heights of up to 22 feet using appropriate equipment. Proficiency in general material handling, including loading, unloading, and moving palletized goods. Reliability in maintaining a clean and safe work environment through regular housekeeping tasks. Willingness and ability to wear appropriate safety footwear, including steel-toe shoes or boots. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience operating forklifts, including stand-up forklifts and sit-down forklifts. Experience in order picking and order pulling within a warehouse environment. Experience with reach trucks, pallet jacks, and cherry pickers. Familiarity with RF scanners or RF scan guns for picking and inventory tasks. Hands-on experience in shipping and receiving operations. Experience with warehouse inventory control and warehouse packing. Comfort with heavy lifting and general labor in a warehouse or distribution setting. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in a warehouse facility located in Stead, operating in a structured and safety-focused environment. You will work around conveyors, stand-up reach lifts, man-up order pickers, and other powered industrial equipment, frequently handling palletized loads and truck parts. The team is described as mature and professional, with a strong emphasis on safety in all aspects of daily operations. The position requires standing and walking for most of the shift and working at heights up to 22 feet using appropriate equipment. The dress code includes wearing steel-toe footwear and other standard warehouse safety gear as required by site policies. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Reno, NV. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.50 - $21.50/hr.
