DESCRIPTION

The Material Handler is responsible for safely moving, staging and storing material throughout the facility. The position supports all production operations by ensuring material is staged when needed, and inventory locations remain accurate. 2.0 ESSENTIAL

FUNCTIONS

Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment. Comply with all safety procedures and PPE requirements. Stage material for all production processes. Supply production with material as required. Verify material identity, lot numbers and weights before movement.. Transport material between receiving, production, storage and shipping areas. Maintain accurate inventory locations and report discrepancies. Follow FIFO and inventory control procedures. Complete required inventory and production documentation. Ensure material is shipped in a timely manner. Following established guidelines and customer requirements Works closely with S/R and Operations to ensure processes, procedures and inspections are being followed. Communicates regularly with lead/supervisors to identify product or process issues Assist Inventory Control with cycle counts and inventory accuracy. Maintain housekeeping in warehouse and staging areas. Work with Production to resolve material issues. Comply with all safety procedures and PPE requirements. ENVIRONMENT

This is a hands-on position and will work in a factory setting. Factory requires use of PPE (safety glasses/safety shoes/earplugs, or other) and environmental conditions vary. The employee may occasionally be exposed to dust/airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, moving PIT vehicles and vibration as it is necessary to walk the production area. 6.0 PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. May be required to move pieces under 50 pounds to inspect and move pallets or cartons with manual material handling equipment. 7.0 POSITION

TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

This is an hourly, nonunion, full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, hours dependent on work shift. Pay:

$17.00 - $19.00 per hour
