In this vital role, you'll be responsible for efficiently managing inventory, operating heavy equipment, and ensuring the smooth flow of goods throughout our facility. Your proactive approach will support order fulfillment, shipping and receiving, and materials handling processes, helping us deliver exceptional service to our customers. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in warehouse management systems and heavy equipment operation while contributing to a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Duties Safely operate heavy equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks and pallet jacks to load, unload, and transport materials within the warehouse. Manage inventory control through accurate stock counting, cycle counts, and updating warehouse management systems like AS400 or RF scanners. Assist with order picking and packing using various tools including pickers and order pickers to fulfill customer orders efficiently. Handle shipping and receiving tasks by verifying inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring proper documentation, and maintaining shipment accuracy. Support warehouse distribution activities by stocking shelves, organizing materials, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment in compliance with OSHA standards. Operate mechanical equipment for heavy lifting or construction-related tasks as needed to support manufacturing or warehouse expansion projects. Collaborate with warehouse supervisors on inventory management strategies and participate in regular safety training sessions to uphold safety protocols. Qualifications Proven experience in warehouse operations or distribution centers with familiarity in inventory management systems such as AS400 or RF scanners. Valid certification for forklift operation; experience with reach trucks, and other heavy equipment is highly desirable. Strong mechanical knowledge related to materials handling equipment and safety procedures aligned with OSHA standards. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently while maintaining attention to detail during order picking & packing processes. Prior experience in shipping & receiving, stock management, or manufacturing environments is preferred. Excellent organizational skills with a focus on inventory control and warehouse distribution processes. Effective communication skills to work collaboratively within a team environment and support warehouse supervision efforts.
