Performs routine custodial work in all the production areas such as sweeping and cleaning, trash removal. Removes scrap and refuse. Empties waste receptacles. Uses brooms or hand operated power scrubbing, and vacuuming equipment. Uses forklift trucks to remove scrap and trash. Uses company vehicle for pick-up and delivery of various items. Responsible for the upkeep of tools and machines. Any miscellaneous job as assigned. Performs material handling functions which may include loading, unloading or moving material within the plant, yard or work site. Counts, packs, stores, handles and delivers materials, supplies, in process and finished goods to production and shipping areas. May support production and other departments as needed. Performs sorting manually or with automated system, quality checks, basket changes, backup for break coverage to maintain equipment running, etc. Performs minor maintenance tasks, for example changing oil.
