SUMMARY:
Responsible for preparing, staging, verifying, and loading outbound shipments while ensuring accuracy, safety, and efficiency. This role requires continuous forklift operation, system scanning, documentation accuracy, and coordination with multiple departments to meet daily shipment deadlines.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Pull finished goods from warehouse (WHSE) locations using a forklift. Stage pallets with appropriate access for scanning and verification. Scan each pallet into two separate systems to ensure accurate inventory tracking and shipment confirmation. Verify part numbers, quantities, and labels prior to loading. Load staged pallets onto empty trailers safely and securely to prevent damage. Submit correct paperwork to the Shipping Office for shipment documentation creation. Repeat the shipment preparation process in sequence until all loads scheduled for the next day are completed. Unload import containers as assigned. Assist with sorting activities as needed. Maintain communication with Test & Pack, First Line Supervisors, Shipping Office personnel, and other associates. Operate forklifts and powered industrial equipment safely and in compliance with company policies. Maintain awareness of pedestrian and vehicle traffic to prevent accidents. Maintain organization and cleanliness of staging and shipping areas. Follow all company safety procedures and PPE requirements. Perform other duties as assigned.
POSITION SKILLS
Strong time management skills to meet daily shipment deadlines. High attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to operate a computer and navigate multiple systems. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong situational awareness in high-traffic warehouse environments. Excellent attendance and reliability. Safety-awareness and accountability in all work activities.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Frequent standing and walking. Constant sitting and computer use while operating forklift. Frequent lifting/carrying 22-32 lbs. Frequent pushing/pulling 22-32 lbs. Frequent bending and squatting. Occasional reaching above shoulder level. Must wear required PPE in designated areas.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Regular exposure to powered industrial equipment and potentially dangerous machinery. Occasional exposure to unstable loads. Frequent interaction with moving equipment, pedestrian traffic, and warehouse activity. Primarily indoor warehouse environment.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED required. Minimum two (2) years forklift operating experience required. Valid forklift certification required and must be maintained. Demonstrated computer proficiency. Strong attendance record. Ability to work safely in a fast-paced warehouse environment. Willingness to work overtime as needed.
