Description:

Summary Loads, unloads, and moves materials within or near plant, yard, or work site by performing the following duties. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Reads shop packets and bills of lading or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved. Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand. Includes moving corrugated to end use storage areas. Loads materials into vehicles and secures as appropriate and conveys materials from storage or work sites to designated area. Counts, weighs, and records number of units of materials moved or handled as appropriate. Operates industrial truck to assist in loading or moving materials and products. Cycle count specific storage locations and/or inventory on a daily basis. Prepares material for outside services. Communicates with buyers/ engineering regarding materials. Other duties may be assigned. Education and/or Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred. And/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. (required only in designated areas) Must be willing and available to work overtime and Saturdays as scheduled. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions. Ability to effectively communicate and perform required documentation. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Basic computer skills.
