I & E Construction is a fast-growing, family-owned, full-service general contractor seeking Entry to Mid-Level General Laborer for our team in Hermiston, OR. This is a project-based position expected to last approximately 12 months. We are looking for motivated individuals ranging from entry-level candidates looking to start a career in construction to experienced laborers who can work independently and support the crew. BASIC FUNCTIONS

The General Laborer supports job site operations by assisting with construction, carpentry, and general labor tasks. This role is ideal for individuals looking to gain hands‑on experience while developing skills in construction and carpentry. Laborers work under the direction of field supervisors and contribute to maintaining a safe, organized, and productive job site.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

Construction and Carpentry Support Assist with framing, blocking, backing, and the installation of building components. Measure, cut, assemble, and install wood materials based on direction from the crew lead. Complete basic repairs, adjustments, and punch-list items appropriate to the employee's skill level. Safely climb and work on ladders or elevated areas when trained and authorized. General Labor and Jobsite Support Load, unload, stage, and move tools and materials. Keep work areas, access paths, and material storage areas clean and organized. Assist with digging, demolition, site preparation, and cleanup. Support other crew members and trades as assigned. Help prepare the jobsite for daily construction activities. Tools, Safety, and Teamwork Operate basic hand and power tools safely and within the employee's demonstrated skill level. Inspect tools and equipment before use and report damaged or unsafe items. Follow all company safety policies, jobsite rules, and supervisor instructions. Communicate clearly and ask questions when instructions are unclear. Work cooperatively with crew members, supervisors, and other trades. Demonstrate dependable attendance, punctuality, and a willingness to learn.

Education/qualifications:

Previous construction, carpentry, concrete, landscaping, warehouse, or general labor experience is preferred but not required. Basic knowledge of construction tools and jobsite practices is helpful. Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a crew. Ability to complete assigned tasks safely and efficiently. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Ability to perform physically demanding work throughout the shift. Ability to work outdoors in changing weather and typical construction-site conditions. Reliable transportation to and from the Hermiston jobsite. Consistent attendance, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
