Job Title:
General Laborer - Door Assembly and Installation Job Description This role focuses on assembling wooden doors and installing them into door frames using a variety of hand and power tools. The position involves precise measuring, drilling, routing, sanding, and finishing work to ensure each door meets quality standards. You will work in a clean wood shop and warehouse environment, contributing to the production of high-quality doors in a hands-on, fast-paced setting. Responsibilities Assemble wooden doors using hand and power tools, ensuring all components fit and function correctly. Install doors into door frames with accurate alignment and secure fastening. Use common woodworking tools such as routers, drills, and sanders to prepare doors for hardware installation. Drill out door handle holes and hinge locations according to specifications and measurements. Perform sanding and other finishing work to produce smooth, high-quality surfaces. Accurately measure materials and door components using a tape measure, including measurements down to 1/16 of an inch. Follow established construction practices and shop procedures to complete tasks safely and efficiently. Use nail guns and staple guns as needed for assembly and installation work. Lift, move, and position doors and materials weighing up to 50 pounds throughout the shift. Wear and properly use required personal protective equipment, including gloves and safety goggles. Maintain a clean and organized work area within the wood shop and warehouse. Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and support overtime needs when required. Essential Skills Ability to lift and safely handle up to 50 pounds on a regular basis. Ability to accurately read a tape measure, including measurements down to 1/16 of an inch. Prior carpentry or shop experience working with wood and basic construction practices. Proficiency using hand tools such as hammers, screwdrivers, and measuring tools. Proficiency using power tools including routers, drills, and sanders. Experience with nail guns and staple guns in a woodworking or construction environment. Strong measuring skills and attention to detail for precise layout and drilling. Ability to perform sanding and other finishing tasks to meet quality standards. Commitment to following safety procedures, including consistent use of gloves and safety goggles. Additional Skills & Qualifications Woodworking experience in a shop, warehouse, or construction setting. Familiarity with general construction practices related to framing, installation, or finish work. Comfort working with both hand and power tools for extended periods. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, production-oriented environment. Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to work overtime when needed. Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wilsonville, OR. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
