Shipping and Receiving Associate Job Description The Shipping and Receiving Associate supports distribution operations by accurately picking, packing, shipping, and receiving materials while following Good Manufacturing Practices and established Standard Operating Procedures. This role ensures inventory is stored safely, orders are processed according to priority, and shipments meet quality, security, and temperature requirements within a refrigerated distribution facility. Responsibilities Apply Good Manufacturing Practices in all areas of responsibility to maintain quality and compliance. Demonstrate and uphold the company's mission and values in daily work. Follow all Standard Operating Procedures to ensure consistent and compliant operations. Pick, pack, and ship distribution orders that require a basic skill level with accuracy and care. Screen shipments for unauthorized devices in accordance with Transportation Security Administration (TSA) requirements. Execute distribution and warehouse system transactions to accurately record inventory movements and order status. Process all orders according to the priority set by the Distribution Leader or Supervisor to meet required deadlines. Verify proper storage conditions and monitor temperatures of shipments to ensure product integrity. Load couriers' trucks using pallet jacks in a safe and efficient manner. Identify opportunities to improve overall quality, safety, and operational efficiency. Participate in daily management activities and 5S practices to maintain an organized and efficient workspace. Ensure that inventory is properly, securely, and safely stored at all times. Maintain the warehouse for safety, security, cleanliness, and neatness. Perform picking, packing, shipping, and receiving tasks accurately and on time. Support inventory control activities, including cycle counts and stock verification. Use RF scanners and related equipment to manage and track inventory and orders. Collaborate with team members within Distribution and across Quality Assurance, Client Services, and Supply Chain departments. Enter order and inventory data accurately into computer systems and maintain a high level of attention to detail. Essential Skills High School Diploma or GED. Ability to work overtime when business volume requires additional labor hours. Physical ability to lift a minimum of 40 lbs and up to a maximum of 75 lbs and to use pallet jacks safely. Willingness to spend extended periods of time walking, standing, entering data for orders, and handling inventory items. Ability to work effectively as part of a team within Distribution and in collaboration with Quality Assurance, Client Services, and Supply Chain. Basic computer competency using Microsoft Office applications. Ability to perform significant and accurate data entry for orders and inventory. Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in all tasks. Ability to work in a refrigerated environment while using proper personal protective equipment (PPE). Additional Skills & Qualifications Forklift experience. Prior distribution or warehouse experience. Knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP). Prior experience in pharmaceutical or clinical logistics environments. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in a distribution facility with loading and unloading docks and active warehouse operations. You will work in areas that include refrigerated environments while using appropriate personal protective equipment. The position involves frequent walking, standing, lifting, and operating material-handling equipment such as pallet jacks, and may require overtime when business volume is high. You will work with warehouse systems, RF scanners, and Microsoft Office tools in a setting that emphasizes safety, security, cleanliness, and adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices and Standard Operating Procedures. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Allentown, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $20.35/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
