About the Role As a Heavy Equipment Material Handler, you will play a vital role in our fast-paced industrial yard, ensuring the seamless flow of structural materials to support large-scale fabrication projects. You will utilize your expertise in operating high-capacity machinery to stage, load, and organize heavy loads, directly impacting the efficiency and safety of our production operations. Responsibilities Operate heavy-capacity forklifts to maneuver oversized structural steel and industrial materials across the yard. Execute precise loading and unloading of transport vehicles to maintain supply chain momentum. Coordinate with production and shipping teams to ensure materials are staged accurately for fabrication. Perform rigorous daily equipment inspections to ensure operational readiness and safety compliance. Maintain a highly organized yard by tagging and tracking inventory to optimize material accessibility. Monitor surrounding site conditions and personnel to uphold the highest standards of safety in a dynamic environment. Required Skills Minimum of 2 years of experience operating heavy-capacity forklifts (10,000+ lb capacity). Proven background in industrial, manufacturing, or construction yard environments. Demonstrated proficiency in handling long, awkward, or oversized loads safely. Strong commitment to safety protocols and situational awareness. Preferred Skills Experience with specialized equipment such as side loaders, telehandlers, or overhead cranes. Knowledge of rigging techniques and load securement best practices. Current OSHA 10 certification or willingness to complete training upon hire. High school diploma or equivalent.
