Job Title:
Cement Packaging General Laborer Job Description This role is a physically demanding position in the cement packaging department, where you will work on a production line handling powdered cement products. You will support consistent, safe, and efficient packaging operations by manually positioning bags for filling, performing routine quality checks, and managing heavy lifting throughout the shift. Responsibilities Work in the cement packaging department on a production line handling powdered cement products. Hold plastic bags open to the filling tube while cement powder is poured inside, repeating this process throughout the shift. Ensure bags are correctly positioned and filled to the appropriate level before moving them along the line. Perform regular quality checks on packaged product to confirm correct fill, labeling, and overall packaging standards. Lift and move bags and materials weighing approximately 50 to 75 pounds as needed during the shift. Use hand tools and power tools as required to support packaging, production, or minor adjustments to equipment. Support general labor tasks such as loading, stacking, and organizing materials in the work area. Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while working with cement and concrete materials. Maintain a clean and organized work area despite dusty and dirty conditions. Collaborate with team members and communicate any issues with product quality, equipment, or safety to supervisors promptly. Essential Skills Ability to perform heavy lifting of approximately 50 to 75 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift. Experience with general labor or production work in industrial, construction, or similar environments. Comfort using hand tools and power tools safely and correctly. Ability to work on your feet for the full shift in a fast-paced, repetitive production environment. Attention to detail to perform basic quality checks on packaged products. Reliability in adhering to scheduled shift hours and overtime when needed. Willingness to work in dusty and dirty conditions around powdered cement and concrete. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in general labor, construction, production, concrete work, landscaping, or loading is beneficial. Experience as a general laborer, construction laborer, or landscaper is an advantage. Comfort with repetitive tasks and maintaining focus over an entire shift. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and adhere to safety protocols. Why Work Here? You work Monday through Friday on a day shift from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., with the option to work from 5:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. to earn overtime. The environment is physically demanding, production-focused, and requires appropriate work attire suitable for a dusty industrial setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Curwensville, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.75 - $19.75/hr.
