Pay:
$18.00-$22.00 per hour, based on experience and license qualifications

Local daytime deliveries, weekday and Saturday availability required About the Position Eighty Four Agway is looking for a safe, dependable and customer-focused Local Delivery Driver & Warehouse Associate. This position delivers feed, lawn and garden products, pet supplies and other merchandise to customers and Pittsburgh Agway locations. The driver is responsible for checking orders, securing loads, planning efficient routes, unloading products and providing professional service at each stop. When deliveries are completed, this position assists with warehouse operations, receiving, stocking, customer loading and order preparation. All deliveries are local, allowing the driver to return home each day. Saturday availability is required, but the Saturday schedule offers some flexibility. Pay is based on driving experience, license qualifications, equipment experience and assigned responsibilities. Delivery Responsibilities Safely operate the assigned delivery vehicle. Deliver palletized and packaged merchandise to customers and Pittsburgh Agway locations. Review invoices, delivery tickets and store-transfer documents before leaving the store. Verify that each load contains the correct products and quantities. Organize loads in a safe, logical delivery order. Secure products using straps, load bars, shrink wrap and other appropriate equipment. Plan efficient delivery routes and adjust routes when necessary. Communicate delays, customer concerns and delivery problems to store management. Safely unload merchandise and place it neatly in the location requested by the customer when reasonably accessible. Obtain customer signatures or delivery confirmation when required. Make sure customers receive the appropriate invoice or delivery ticket. Represent Pittsburgh Agway professionally at every delivery location. Vehicle Safety and Maintenance Complete and document required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections. Check tires, fluids, lights, fuel and other safety-related vehicle components. Keep the cab, truck bed or cargo box clean and free of unnecessary materials. Sweep and empty the cargo area after delivery routes. Report vehicle damage, mechanical concerns, accidents and safety problems immediately. Coordinate required service, inspections and repairs with management. Maintain accurate driving, mileage, inspection and delivery records. Follow all traffic laws and adjust driving for weather and road conditions. Make safety the first priority at all times. Never use a mobile phone while operating a company vehicle. Loading, Warehouse and Store Support Coordinate with warehouse and department employees to identify merchandise scheduled for delivery. Assist with picking, staging, loading and unloading customer and transfer orders. Operate a forklift, pallet jack and other material-handling equipment after completing required training and authorization. Confirm that loaded merchandise matches the invoice, delivery ticket or transfer request. Restock products in the warehouse, showroom and outdoor sales areas between deliveries. Assist customers with loading and product pickup when available. Help maintain a clean, safe and organized warehouse. Assist the warehouse manager, lead cashier and other team members when delivery duties are complete. Customer Service Greet customers and communicate professionally at delivery locations. Confirm delivery placement with the customer before unloading. Answer basic product questions and direct more detailed questions to the appropriate Agway team member. Communicate current promotions or relevant products when appropriate. Handle customer property and merchandise carefully. Report delivery damage, shortages or customer concerns immediately. Required Qualifications Valid driver's license appropriate for the assigned vehicle. Clean and acceptable driving record for at least the previous two years. Ability to meet Pittsburgh Agway's vehicle-insurance requirements. DOT medical certification required for the assigned vehicle. Dependable attendance and the ability to arrive ready for scheduled routes. Flexible but consistent Saturday availability. Ability to repeatedly lift and carry up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation. Ability to safely handle heavier or awkward products using appropriate equipment or team lifting. Ability to climb into and out of a truck, bend, reach, push, pull, stand and walk throughout the workday. Ability to work indoors and outdoors in changing temperatures and weather conditions. Ability to read invoices, count products and maintain accurate records. Strong communication, organization and customer-service skills. Ability to pass any driving-record review, background check, drug screening or other qualification required for the position. Previous delivery, warehouse, forklift, feed-store, farm-store or building-supply experience is preferred but not required. What Success Looks Like Deliveries are accurate, safe and completed on schedule. Loads are organized and properly secured. Customers receive professional service and clear communication. Delivery documents, signatures and driving logs are complete. The vehicle remains clean, inspected and ready for operation. Product damage and delivery errors are minimized. Warehouse and store responsibilities are completed when the driver is not on a route. Managers and coworkers can depend on the driver to communicate and follow through.
