Job Description

Job Overview The Shipping and Warehouse Specialist oversees and directs daily warehouse and fulfillment operations within our 503A compounding pharmacy environment. This role is responsible for driving operational excellence across inventory management, warehouse organization, purchasing support, receiving, and patient order shipment and delivery. The Shipping and Warehouse Manager ensures all prescription orders are accurately packaged, verified, and dispatched in full compliance with USP compounding standards, regulatory requirements, and patient safety protocols. The ideal candidate brings prior warehouse experience in a medical or healthcare setting, strong leadership capabilities, diligent attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and high-performing workplace. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and eager to optimize warehouse workflows through innovative solutions. Primary ResponsibilitiesOperations & Team Leadership Direct and support daily warehouse operations, ensuring all inventory, receiving, and shipping workflows run smoothly in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Partner with Lead Technician and PIC to set and ensure accurate completion of daily, weekly and monthly goals. Maintain a clean, organized, compliant, and inspection-ready warehouse and storage facility. Inventory Control & Purchasing Support Oversee proper inventory management, including real-time stock tracking, perpetual inventory audits, and routine physical counts using the Lifefile software system. Execute purchasing support activities, manage stock rotation (FIFO), track purchase orders, and coordinate with vendors to prevent being out of stock of critical compounding and fulfillment materials. Oversee material receiving, verifying packing slips and Certificates of Analysis (CoA) for all inbound shipments, ensuring digital and physical records are filed securely. Monitor daily storage environmental conditions, including temperature and humidity logs for chemical storage areas and refrigerators, following SOPs for storage integrity. Maintaining accurate inventory logs and timely stock reconciliations. Shipping, Logistics & Patient Order Fulfillment Lead the accurate packaging, labeling, and timely dispatch of patient prescription orders. Meet daily cutoff times for carrier pickups and patient fulfillment schedules. Manage carrier relationships and scheduling across platforms including FedEx, UPS, USPS, and local courier services. Ensure proper cold-chain shipping protocols and temperature-sensitive packaging procedures are precisely followed. Perform quality verification of outgoing shipments against patient orders, manifest logs, and shipping documentation. Maintain accurate, compliant documentation for all inbound and outbound shipments in accordance with 503A pharmacy regulations and HIPAA privacy guidelines.
Position QualificationsRequired Experience & Education Education :
High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience :
Minimum of 3-5 years of warehouse experience, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity within a medical warehouse, healthcare facility, or pharmacy setting. Prior hands-on experience in medical supply receiving, patient order fulfillment, inventory rotation, and carrier management (FedEx, UPS, local couriers). Preferred- Current and Valid Pharmacy Technician license, in good standing. Preferred- Two or more years of Pharmacy Technician experience Technical & Skills Requirements Proficiency with pharmacy management or logistics systems (e.g., PK, Lifefile, FedEx ShipStation, Google Workspace, Microsoft Office). Strong understanding of medical inventory control principles and cold-chain shipping requirements. High level of organizational ability, communication skills, and attention to detail under tight shipping deadlines. Knowledge of HIPAA standards regarding patient health information (PHI) protection during shipping and labeling. Physical Requirements Ability to exert up to 40 lbs of force occasionally, up to 20 lbs of force frequently, and up to 10 lbs constantly to move objects. Physical dexterity to stand, walk, push/pull, bend, reach, and climb stairs or ladders throughout the shift. Ability to work comfortably in varying warehouse temperatures and near cleanroom environmental zones.
Pay:
$22.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
