We are seeking a dependable Material Handler to support daily manufacturing operations in a plastic production environment. This position is responsible for moving and maintaining production materials, stocking machines, cleaning and maintaining material-handling equipment, and ensuring materials are available when needed. The ideal candidate is reliable, safety-conscious, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
Read work orders and follow written or verbal instructions to determine materials and containers that need to be moved. Manually move materials or use equipment to supply and transfer materials used in production. Stock and maintain production machines with the appropriate materials. Handle materials carefully to prevent contamination. Clean and maintain grinders, dryers, hoppers, loaders, presses, and related equipment. Complete storage labels, labor tickets, and other required documentation. Assist with loading, unloading, and transporting materials. Monitor the condition of raw materials and report concerns to the supervisor. Report equipment issues and safety concerns promptly. Communicate important information to incoming Material Handlers during shift changes. Help maintain material-handling equipment and notify supervisors when replacement parts or equipment are needed. Operate equipment safely and follow established safety procedures. Maintain a clean and organized work area using 5S practices . Transport trash and production waste to designated areas. Assist with other production and material-handling duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma/GED preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous manufacturing, warehouse, or material-handling experience is helpful but not required . Ability to read and understand safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance instructions, and procedures. Ability to complete forms and basic paperwork accurately. Good verbal and written communication skills. Basic math skills, including fractions, percentages, and units of weight and measurement. Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions. Strong attention to safety and detail. Dependable attendance and strong work ethic. Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, sit, climb, bend, kneel, and squat throughout the workday. Frequent use of hands and fingers to handle materials and operate equipment. Ability to reach with hands and arms. Ability to frequently lift and/or move materials weighing up to 75 pounds . Ability to work around moving machinery and production equipment.
Work Environment:
Manufacturing environment with moderate noise levels. Work is performed around moving mechanical equipment. Occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles. Proper safety equipment and procedures must be followed at all times. Why Apply? $15.50/hour 1st
