A propane dock worker is primarily responsible for safely loading and unloading propane cylinders from trucks, filling propane tanks for customers, maintaining the dock area, and ensuring proper handling and storage of propane products, often operating forklifts to move cylinders while adhering to strict safety regulations.

Job Duties:

Filling propane cylinders: Accurately filling propane tanks for customers, following weight and pressure guidelines.

Loading and unloading trucks:

Operating forklifts to efficiently load and unload propane cylinders from delivery trucks.

Dock maintenance:

Keeping the dock area clean, organized, and free of hazards.

Inventory management:

Maintaining accurate inventory records of propane cylinders.

Customer service:

Assisting customers with propane purchases, answering questions about products, and ensuring a positive experience.

Safety compliance:

Strictly following all safety procedures related to propane handling, including wearing required personal protective equipment.

Equipment operation:

Properly operating forklifts, scales, and other equipment used on the dock.

Cylinder inspection:

Visually inspecting propane cylinders for damage before filling and loading.

Basic repairs:

Performing minor repairs on cylinders as needed Reporting issues: Immediately reporting any safety concerns or equipment malfunctions to supervisors

Skills and Qualifications:

Eligibility Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent Previous experience in a warehouse or dock environment preferred Ability to operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to lift heavy objects and work in all weather conditions

Work Environment:

The Dock Worker will work in a warehouse or dock environment, which may involve exposure to loud noises, heavy machinery, and inclement weather. The Dock Worker may be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Pay:

From $21.50 per hour
