This position focuses on processing end-of-life vehicles and preparing them to be safely and efficiently placed in the yard for customers to pull parts. The ideal candidate is comfortable working outdoors, using hand and power tools, performing physically demanding work, and following established safety and environmental procedures. Automotive experience is helpful but not required —we are willing to train the right person. Responsibilities Process and prepare end-of-life vehicles for placement in the self-service yard. Drain and properly remove automotive fluids, including engine oil, coolant, transmission fluid, fuel, and other fluids as required. Remove batteries, tires, and other designated components prior to placing vehicles in the yard. Safely prepare vehicles for customers to pull parts from. Use hand tools, power tools, pumps, and other equipment to process vehicles. Identify and properly handle hazardous materials and automotive fluids according to company procedures. Keep the work area, equipment, and yard clean and organized. Follow all company safety, environmental, and vehicle-processing procedures. Assist with moving, positioning, and organizing vehicles throughout the yard. Inspect vehicles for potential hazards before and during processing. Work efficiently while maintaining a high standard of safety and quality. Perform other general yard and vehicle-processing duties as needed. Qualifications Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to perform physically demanding work, including standing, bending, lifting, and working around vehicles for extended periods. Comfortable using basic hand and power tools. Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic. Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Previous automotive, mechanical, salvage-yard, construction, or similar experience is a plus, but not required . Must be willing to learn proper vehicle-processing and fluid-handling procedures. Physical Requirements This is an active, hands-on position.
