Job Description

Job Title:
Material Handler Job Description This role involves performing a wide range of warehouse and material handling duties, including receiving raw materials, preparing materials for production, transporting and storing goods, and accurately managing inventory using computer systems. You will train on first shift and then transition to second or third shift, operating sit-down forklifts and performing manual tasks to move raw materials and finished goods throughout a clean, well-organized manufacturing facility. Responsibilities Receive raw material deliveries, verify shipments against purchase orders, and check receipts and bills of lading for proper shipment, shortages, damages, or defects. Unpack materials and supplies and prepare materials for use in production according to established procedures. Transport raw materials and finished goods throughout the plant using sit-down forklifts, pallet jacks, and other manual and powered material handling equipment. Maintain a safe and clean work environment by following safety procedures and promptly reporting unsafe practices, conditions, or acts to lead operators or supervisors. Use manual and powered material handling equipment in a safe and efficient manner, including sit-down forklifts and pallet jacks. Essential Skills Minimum of a high school education or equivalent. At least one year of experience in a related material handling, warehouse, or distribution role. Proven experience operating a sit-down forklift safely and efficiently. Capability to perform physical work, including standing for long periods, recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, and lifting items over 50 pounds. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with inventory control processes and systems. Familiarity with palletizing, pallet building, and general pallet handling. Experience with RF scanners for picking, packing, or inventory activities. Experience in shipping and receiving operations. Experience with order picking and material staging for production. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of York, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
