Material Handler Position Summary Responsible for the safe and efficient shipment, receipt, storage, and movement of materials, equipment, merchandise, and supplies in compliance with applicable Department of Transportation (DOT), airline, and international shipping regulations. Maintains a thorough understanding of domestic and international carrier requirements and company shipping procedures. Supports warehouse and production operations by receiving inbound freight, processing inventory transactions, staging raw materials, and fulfilling transfer orders. Key Responsibilities
- Operate stand-up and sit-down forklifts safely and efficiently, including changing batteries and propane cylinders as needed.
- Utilize required personal protective equipment (PPE), while adhering to all safety policies and procedures.
- Use SAP to review inventory levels, process transfer orders, and complete shipping and receiving transactions.
- Verify the accuracy of inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and ship materials, equipment, merchandise, and supplies in accordance with all applicable shipping regulations.
- Receive, inspect, rack, and store inbound freight from external vendors and production pack-outs.
- Support production operations by pulling, staging, and delivering raw materials as directed by transfer orders.
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure all received shipments contain appropriate origin verification and supporting paperwork.
- Perform routine warehouse duties as required to support safe, efficient, and reliable shipping and receiving operations.
- Maintain housekeeping standards and follow all environmental, health, and safety requirements. Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience operating stand-up and sit-down forklifts, tuggers, tractor trailers, and other mobile equipment.
- Great attention to detail and the ability to track, record, and keep accurate records.
- Strong basic math and troubleshooting skills.
- Willingness to work flexible schedules, including overtime, based on business needs.
- Ability to learn and effectively use SAP for warehousing management. Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs and ladders, and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment while wearing required PPE. Benefits
