Job Description

The Crane Operator/Loader is responsible for handling materials as related to the shipping and receiving of inventory and customer orders. This position reports directly to the Operations Manager. 2nd
Shift Hours:
2:30 p.m. - 12:00 a.m., with availability to work overtime as needed.
Summary of Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities Crane and Forklift Operation:
Safely operate overhead cranes and forklifts
Product Knowledge:
Understand the products handled, including color coding and customer specifications; read and interpret all measuring devices
Shipping and Receiving:
Unload and receive inbound stock shipments and load outbound shipments, ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed
Loading Procedures:
Safely load trucks, including proper chaining and tarping of trailers
Additional Duties:
Perform other duties as assigned to support warehouse operations
Qualifications Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of experience operating overhead cranes in an industrial or distribution environment
Certification:
Valid certification to operate overhead cranes is required
Education:
High School diploma or GED; or 1-3 months of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Regulations Knowledge:
Understanding of DOT regulations regarding load weight
Safety and Procedures:
Ability to follow safety protocols and operational procedures
Dependability:
Reliable with a strong work ethic
Learning and Training:
Willingness to learn new skills and train others
Physical Examination:
Ability to pass a physical examination for vision, hearing, and mobility
