Job Purpose In a team-oriented environment, perform all duties related to the operation of the Warehouse. This includes conducting all receiving and shipping operations of raw materials and finish products. Included also is the internal retrieving and staging material for production and the Finished Goods Department. Key Accountabilities Participate and contribute in Health & Safety and Environmental activities (BBS observer, HS&E training, Housekeeping, 5S). Follow regulatory shipping requirements. Receive in-coming raw material and ship out-going finish goods. Follow and execute operational procedures - activities such as verification of incoming & outgoing shipments, identification & disposition of returned material, damaged material or obsolete material. Pick, Unpack and stage raw material and intermediate rolls for Coating and Finished goods departments. Conduct cycle counting of warehouse inventory. Conduct physical inventory of warehouse inventory. Interface with Planning, Purchasing, Production and Customer service departments to ensure proper support of sales activities. Support the standards and values of AkzoNobel. Complete all training modules. Ensure that all the finished products are properly labelled, packaged and delivered to its specified area Operate all essential warehouse equipment in a safe manner (Forklift, Walkie Stacker, pallet jack ect.) Participate in the company's Life saving rules. Adhere to the Golden Principle - intervene to stop work if conditions or behavior are unsafe. Assist and participate with other areas as required in order to promote a team environment Performs other duties as required for the success of Akzo Nobel. Additional Responsibilities Monthly Safety Training Sessions Participate in Recycling Efforts Ship and Receive Materials in Syteline System Job Requirements High School Diploma or GED Previous warehouse experience Good communication and interpersonal skills Ability to read and interpret written information Work in a team environment Forklift experience Microsoft office experience Physical Requirements Working conditions will consist of a paint factory environment that has the potential of exposure to hazardous chemicals and fumes. The employee will regularly have to work around moving forklifts, coating factory equipment (such as mixing equipment, pumps, filling equipment, etc.). Physical requirements are standing for periods of time, sitting, working on a computer, walking, writing, kneeling, crouching and climbing stairs. Occasionally lifting or moving objects up to 50 Lbs. Ability to work safely and at ease while wearing required, appropriate personal protective equipment including gloves, safety shoes and bumpcaps. Total Compensation Perks for Joining AkzoNobel!
