Job Description
Material Handler - 3rd Shift The Material Handler picks and processes customer orders and distribution center orders accurately and on time. Department Shipping/Receiving Employment Type Full Time Location Liberty, SC Workplace type Onsite Reporting To Tim Hanna Key Responsibilities Compiles, organizes, and prepares all orders as directed from the Shipping Supervisor Operates a handheld scanner to scan barcodes and delivers materials to their target location Operates forklift, lift truck, side loaders, pallet trucks, picker and other loading/stacking equipment Responsible daily inspection of forklifts and performs on-spot checking Maintains and organizes warehouse storage including pallet consolidation and cleanliness of aisles Promotes a safe workplace by performing all tasks in a safe and thoughtful manner in compliance with all rules, procedures, instructions, devices, equipment and use of appropriate personal protective equipment. Maintain vigilance for any hazardous conditions or practices in the workplace and immediately report any unsafe condition or practice to your supervisor. Performs other duties as directed Skills, Knowledge & Expertise Skills Outstanding organization and documentation skills Excellent attention to detail and accuracy Prioritize and complete a variety of tasks in a timely manner Excellent verbal and written communication skills Possesses a strong commitment to team environment while working well with others Knowledge of company products in terms of part numbers and product descriptions Well-versed in warehouse, shipping, and receiving functions Ability to safely drive a forklift and picker Familiar with shipping methods such as Fed Ex, UPS, or freight truck Knowledge of operating lift trucks, side loaders, pallet trucks, and other loading/stacking equipment Solid understanding of mathematics Proficient in Warehouse Management Systems and CP scanner
