  • Job Title: Warehouse Forklift Operator
  • Job Description
  • This role focuses on safely operating forklifts and material handling equipment to move, store, and ship palletized freight within a warehouse environment. You spend the majority of your shift on equipment, handling inbound and outbound shipments, maintaining inventory accuracy, and supporting a fast-paced logistics operation tied to port and supply chain activities.
  • Responsibilities
  • + Operate forklifts, including sit-down, deep reach, and pallet jack equipment, safely for most of the shift.

+ Receive inbound freight, verify documentation, and put products away in designated rack locations.

+ Load and unload inbound and outbound trucks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

+ Pick, pack, and label orders accurately for customers or carriers.

+ Stage and prepare shipments for pickup, ensuring order accuracy and proper documentation.

+ Use scanners or warehouse systems to maintain accurate inventory records and product locations.

+ Follow all warehouse safety standards, procedures, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.

+ Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area throughout the shift.

+ Work both independently and as part of a team to meet production and shipping deadlines.

+ Support general warehouse tasks as needed, including basic production, loading, unloading, and general labor duties.

  • Essential Skills
  • + Prior forklift operating experience, including reach truck, sit-down forklift, and pallet jack.

+ Demonstrated ability to operate material handling equipment safely for the majority of the shift.

+ Experience receiving inbound freight and placing products accurately into rack locations.

+ Proficiency loading and unloading trucks in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

+ Ability to pick orders, label products, and stage shipments for outbound delivery with high accuracy.

+ Familiarity with inventory control using scanners or warehouse management systems.

+ Comfort working in a production-driven, fast-paced warehouse or logistics operation.

+ Ability to lift up to approximately 30 pounds on a regular basis.

+ Strong attendance, reliability, and time management skills.

+ Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a team.

  • Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • + High school diploma or GED preferred. + Must be at least 18 years of age. + Experience in warehouse loading, unloading, and general labor tasks. + in logistics, port operations, or import/export environments is beneficial. + Ability to adapt to shift-based schedules and overtime when needed. + Comfort working in temperature-controlled environments, including potential cold storage areas.

Schedules are shift-based, typically on 1st or 2nd shift, with regular opportunities for overtime in a physically active, production-driven setting.

  • This is a Contract to Hire position based out of North Charleston, SC.
  • Pay and Benefits
  • The pay range for this position is $18.

00 - $18.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
