Job Title:
Shipping Helper Job Description The Shipping Helper supports daily production and warehouse operations by performing general labor, material handling, and basic repair tasks. This role involves using hand and power tools to fix and repair equipment or products, as well as lifting, loading, and unloading materials to ensure efficient shipping and receiving processes. Responsibilities Assist with general shop and warehouse duties, including labor and material handling tasks to support production and shipping operations. Lift, load, and unload products and materials safely and efficiently throughout the workday. Use basic hand and power tools to fix, repair, and adjust equipment or products as needed. Support production and assembly activities to maintain workflow and meet daily operational goals. Handle and move materials within the warehouse and production areas, following established procedures. Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency. Follow all workplace safety guidelines, including proper use of tools, equipment, and required protective footwear. Collaborate with team members and assist other employees with labor and material handling duties as needed. Essential Skills Ability to perform general labor tasks in a production and warehouse environment. Ability to use basic hand and power tools for simple repairs and adjustments. General warehouse and shipping knowledge, including material handling practices. Capability to stand, bend, and lift for an entire 8-hour workday. Comfort with lifting, loading, and unloading products and materials on a regular basis. Basic understanding of production and assembly processes. Reliability and willingness to follow instructions and established procedures. Additional Skills & Qualifications Prior production or warehouse experience preferred. Experience with warehouse production and assembly work is an asset. Familiarity with equipment repair tasks using basic tools is beneficial. Ability to work effectively as part of a team of 10 or more employees. Strong work ethic and attention to safety and cleanliness in the workplace. Why Work Here? Work Environment The role is based in a production and warehouse facility focused on shipping and material handling activities. You work closely with a team of more than 10 employees, assisting across various labor and material handling duties. The position is first shift only, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, providing a stable and predictable schedule. The dress code requires steel toe boots, jeans, and a short- or long-sleeve shirt, suitable for an active, hands-on environment where you regularly stand, bend, lift, and move materials throughout the day. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Carmel, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
