Job Description

Basic Function:
The Material Handler is responsible for performing all duties related to incoming and outgoing material.
Responsibilities :
Loads, unloads, and transfers material to designated areas in accordance with training procedures. Labels and stocks material in warehouse utilizing equipment (i.e., scan guns, forklifts, or pickers) - lifting and carrying material may be required. Inspects material for deficiencies or breakages prior to shipment or warehouse storage. Records all material discrepancies utilizing appropriate procedures. Completes inventory preparation for warehouse stock. Pulls material from the shelf in accordance with ticket requirements (use of forklift of picker required). Respools and fills customer order in accordance with ticket and completes appropriate paperwork/checklists. Organizes and prepares material for shipments as needed. Follows ticket instructions and shipping standards in accordance with procedures. Ensures all material is packaged adequately to prevent freight damage. Always maintains a neat and orderly workplace - includes moving pallets, straightening inventory, sweeping, and removing/disposing of debris. Follows safety procedures in accordance with approved training and reports any dangerous conditions to management immediately. Other duties may be assigned by WireMasters Management. High School Diploma or equivalent. Strong written, technical, and oral communication skills. Basic Math Aptitude. Organization, planning, and time management. Reading Skills. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
