JOB SUMMARY
We're seeking a reliable, safety‑driven Yard Jockey & Material Handler to support both yard operations and warehouse material flow. This role is 50% yard jockey work and 50% material handling , and requires a valid Class A CDL to safely maneuver trailers on our property. Safely operate a yard truck to move trailers between designated buildings and company facilities. Position trailers accurately at dock doors for loading and unloading, ensuring alignment for forklift and material handling operations. Perform thorough pre‑trip inspections of trailers to ensure compliance with DOT standards and immediately report any issues. Log and track all trailer movements within the yard, including inbound/outbound shipments, trailer locations, and stock levels. Communicate trailer moves, trailer numbers, and yard conditions clearly with warehouse staff and management. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe yard environment by following all safety procedures and reporting hazards. Serve as the main point of contact for yard‑related requests and work independently to resolve issues and complete assignments efficiently. Ensure all yard operations are performed safely, accurately, and in a timely manner.MATERIAL HANDLER RESPONSIBILITIES
Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment to load and unload pallets and materials. Perform warehouse material handling tasks such as order picking, receiving, inventorying, labeling, scanning, staging, and pallet movement. Assist with loading and unloading shipments and ensure accuracy of counts, labeling, and documentation. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment in accordance with company safety standards. Support special projects or urgent tasks as assigned and work collaboratively with warehouse leadership.GENERAL EXPECTATIONS
Work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining consistent communication with supervisors and team members. Follow all safety policies and participate in maintaining a zero‑incident safety environment. Be prepared for occasional overtime based on business needs.QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record is required. Minimum of 1-2 years of experience operating yard vehicles such as tractor-trailers and yard dogs is required. Forklift and Material Handling experience is required, including loading/unloading shipments. Solid teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to multi-task and stay organized in a fast-paced setting. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately and thoroughly.WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position is in a warehouse setting that is not climate controlled Exposure to noise, dust, fumes, and odors Frequent standing, walking, and lifting throughout the shift Fast-paced production with occasional unscheduled interruptions Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. required Availability to work 8-10 hour scheduled workdays Why Join Duraplas?
