Overview Join our dynamic team as a General Laborer with a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) card at the port of Brownsville. This vital role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a bustling port environment, supporting cargo operations, materials handling, and warehouse activities. As a key contributor, you will ensure smooth shipping and receiving processes while adhering to safety protocols and operational standards. Duties Assist with loading and unloading cargo using material handling equipment such as forklifts, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and cranes Perform order picking and inventory management tasks accurately using RF scanners and manual methods Operate heavy equipment safely following OSHA standards and safety protocols Support shipping and receiving activities by verifying shipments, inspecting containers, and documenting transactions Handle materials manually and with equipment to ensure proper storage, movement, and distribution within the warehouse or port area Maintain a clean, organized workspace while adhering to safety guidelines to prevent accidents or injuries Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to coordinate operations efficiently and ensure timely completion of tasks Experience Prior experience in warehouse distribution or warehouse operations is highly preferred Demonstrated ability to operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, or cranes Experience with inventory management systems and RF scanners for order picking and shipping/receiving processes Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to heavy equipment operation and manual handling Strong basic math skills for inventory counts, measurements, and documentation accuracy Previous roles involving heavy lifting, manual handling, or materials movement will be advantageous Warehouse supervisor experience is a plus for those interested in growth opportunities within logistics operations Join us in a role that keeps the ports moving smoothly! Pay:
$13.00 - $14.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 - 72.0 per week
