Responsibilities Operate material handling equipment including loaders, forklifts, front loader trucks, roll-off trucks, and garbage trucks to move recyclable materials and waste efficiently. Load, unload, sort, and organize recyclable materials such as metals, plastics, and other solid waste products in accordance with safety regulations. Conduct routine inspections of heavy equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance. Manage the handling of hazardous materials following all hazardous materials regulations and safety protocols. Maintain cleanliness of the yard by removing debris and ensuring pathways are clear for safe movement of vehicles and personnel. Assist with landfill management activities including waste segregation, disposal procedures, and environmental compliance measures. Adhere strictly to safety regulations by using personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times during operations and manual labor tasks. Requirements Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as loaders, excavators, forklifts, or similar machinery preferred. Mechanical knowledge or background in manufacturing or recycling environments is highly advantageous. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in outdoor settings under various weather conditions. Knowledge of recyclable materials handling, landfill management, solid waste management, sanitation practices, and environmental compliance standards. Familiarity with safety regulations related to hazardous materials and general workplace safety protocols. Prior experience working outdoors or in outdoor work environments demonstrating physical stamina and resilience. Strong commitment to safety protocol adherence and proper use of PPE at all times during work activities.
