Job Description
The Material Handler maintains production and distribution of products by pulling orders from inventory; delivering production materials and supplies; staging finished products. Performs manual and clerical duties related to shipping, receiving, inspecting, storing, issuing and delivering a variety of materials, equipment and supplies. Roles & Responsibilities Crosstrain in various warehouse functions including shipping, receiving, job issuing/staging, and material handling/storage. Exercise judgment in making minor decisions that impact the accuracy and quality of work. Operate within our Syspro system, ensuring accurate data entry and utilizing associated record systems for transaction research. Work autonomously with minimal supervision on routine tasks. Ensure accuracy in all tasks; errors are quickly identified and corrected. Maintain routine communication with other departments or work areas to facilitate the flow of materials and information. Attend production meetings to stay informed about departmental needs and contribute to overall operational efficiency. Foster a culture of safety, striving for an accident-free workplace. Promote and maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization within the warehouse environment. Education & Experience Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment preferred. Certification in forklift operation is a plus. Specific Skills Proficient in safely operating forklifts, jib cranes, hoists, and overhead cranes to move and position materials. Ability to lift up to 50lbs and possess manual dexterity for handling various materials. Effective communication skills to collaborate with managers, customers, and team members. Maintain flexible availability to accommodate varying work schedules and demands.
