Job Description

Preston Rentals (www.prestonrentals.com) is a market leader and innovator in the rental of materials handling technology for the building construction industry. Preston has over 30 years of experience and has earned a reputation for advanced design, efficiency, service, safety, and quality We are seeking a dynamic individual for our Texas City, TX branch, to fill the position of Installer/ Yard Worker. The expected travel for this position is up to 50% of the time (Monday - Friday). This position is a dynamic role, engaging in hands-on manual labor, including routine maintenance tasks such as painting, concrete chipping, and rust grinding. Additionally, you'll be responsible for inspecting and preparing heavy equipment at our facility, as well as traveling across the US to support various construction teams with the initial installation of Superdeck® platforms. As a crucial part of the installation process, you'll provide on-site training orientations for construction teams, ensuring the safe and efficient use of our equipment. In this position, you'd be working as an independent contractor. After approximately 90 days, you'd have the potential to transition to a full-time employee with benefits.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Inventory Control. Properly loading and unloading equipment. Assembling and disassembling equipment per manufacturer specifications. Conducting routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning, painting, and equipment preparation. Providing on-site training orientations to construction teams. Ensuring equipment is safely installed according to engineer specifications. Adhering to and complying with all safety regulations and standards. Monitoring and maintaining heavy equipment to ensure safety and reporting safety concerns to management promptly. Public speaking which consists of commanding an audience of construction workers on the safety, installation, and use of our equipment. The ability to properly identify necessary equipment and parts for each project. Familiar with all necessary safety equipment Other assigned duties.
Qualifications:
To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements: Successfully pass a post-offer drug test, pre-work screening, physical and background check. Capable of repeatedly lifting and transporting heavy objects weighing up to 75 lbs over a distance of 50 feet. Possession of a valid driver's license. PC literate. Physical capability to work in demanding conditions. Excellent vision and hearing corrected or uncorrected. Comfort working at heights and on construction sites. Strong English communication skills. Dependable self stater who's motivated, reliable and punctual with minimal supervision needed. A team-player, do all attitude. Ability to read engineering specs. (preferred not required) Forklift, rigging and welding knowledge. (preferred) A training opportunity is available for a suitable candidate who demonstrates dedication and hard work.
Work Environment:
This position requires working outdoors in all types of weather conditions, including wet/humid, extreme cold, and extreme heat, for extended periods of time.
