You will play a central role in preparing our premium soil blends and other products, including but not limited to: operating equipment to mix soil and amendment blends or formulas, bagging and sealing products, and fulfilling outbound shipments, while ensuring safety protocols are followed. Experience operating equipment such as forklifts is a plus, but a willingness to learn and use one is only what is required.
Responsibilities Soil Batching & Mixing:
Safely operate a Bobcat TL623 Telehandler to load bulk ingredients into a 2 cubic yard soil mixer according to recipe specifications; monitor batch quality and mix consistency.
Bagging & Packaging:
Operate manual or semi-automated bagging equipment to package finished soil blends and specialty amendments; seal, label, clean, and shelf products.
Fulfillment & Shipping:
Accurately pick, pack, and stage wholesale, retail, and other orders; prepare shipping manifests/labels, and load delivery trucks or freight carriers using a Moffett Truck Mounted Forklift.
Inventory & Maintenance:
Monitor raw material levels and packaged inventory; perform routine maintenance checks on the Bobcat and soil mixer; keep mixing bays and shipping floors clean, organized, and safety complyant.
Goal Oriented:
Collaborate with team members to meet operational goals, fulfill orders on time, and improve overall workflow.
Prior experience operating a Bobcat, skid-steer, or front-end loader preferred. However, we can train and welcome applicants who are enthusiastic about expanding their skill set and dedicated to maintaining a safe working environment.
Physical Capability:
Ability to lift, push, and move up to 80 lbs repeatedly throughout an 8-hour shift in an active warehouse environment, as well as pallets and sacks of varying weights using a pallet jack.
Fulfillment Skills:
Experience with order picking, inventory management, or freight shipping software preferred.
Attributes:
High attention to detail, strong safety record, and solid team communication skills, okay with repetitive tasks.
Work Environment & Details Schedule:
Starting out it will be Variable-Hour Employment/As-Needed Employment, with a goal of switching to full time employment at some point. Workdays are Monday - Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm which includes a 30 minute unpaid lunchbreak. The variable aspect is in case we have slower periods, primarily during the winter, where we would not need someone to come in for some of the days. Majority of the time it will be full time. Each day working in the warehouse would be a full day (you would not be asked to come in for a few hours, or for half of the day).
Environment:
Warehouse, semi-outdoor, and outdoor yard setting. Exposure to dirt, dust, and wind (PPE provided, we don't mix outside when raining or snowing).
Compensation:
Starts at $16.00 - $20.00/hour based on experience. For full time employees, or those consistently working 40 hours per week there is also: 1 week of PTO (starts accumulating after 6 months of full time employment), and up to $2,400 full time work bonuses per year paid out evenly per bi-weekly paycheck, as long as 40 hours are worked for both weeks in the pay period (Becomes available after 3 months of full time employment).
