Job Description

We are willing to train an inquisitive mind.
Purpose of Position:
The Maintenance Technician provides repairs and maintenance for facility and warehouse equipment. The Maintenance Technician is involved with diagnosing problems and preparing records and reports for all maintenance activity They also assist the Maintenance Manager with all special projects, maintaining building and warehouse machinery. The Maintenance Technician will also be able to read schematics and diagnose problems with electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine checks and maintane warehouse and all equipment within the warehouse
  • Utilize established PM and repair policies and procedures to return equipment to fully operational status
  • Prepare records and reports for building and machine repairs
  • Troubleshoot complex problems with equipment where the repair is not immediately visible or obvious.
  • Daily perform preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment (e.g., lift trucks, pneumatic systems, material handling equipment, hydraulic equipment, dock equipment, electronic and electrical equipment, etc.) according to procedures.
  • Operate material handling equipment, battery equipment, moving machinery, and other powered equipment.
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test, and adjust
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean/orderly work areas during projects. Then cleaning after project is complete.
  • Read and understand technical drawings (e.g., blueprints, electronic/mechanical schematics) to repair/maintain equipment
  • Communicate with (or to) individuals or groups verbally and/or in writing (e.g., managers and associates) Repairing malfunctioned equipment, assigned items, and special projects. PM and repair compactor systems on a regular basis.
  • All other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of diagnosing mechanical problems and performing repairs
  • Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders
  • Understand MIG/TIG welding processes
  • 12, 24, 48, and 110-volt electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Adaptability/creativeness to be able to fabricate solutions for operational warehouse requirements
  • Understand schematics of pneumatic, electrical, and hydraulic equipment
  • Comfortability to use or be certified on all warehouse equipment (e.g., lift trucks, material handling equipment, hydraulic equipment, dock equipment, electronic and electrical equipment, etc.)
  • Knowledge of PM and repair for all warehouse equipment (e.g., lift trucks, material handling equipment, hydraulic equipment, dock equipment, electronic and electrical equipment, etc.)
  • Problem solving skills and prioritize tasks.
Education/Experience:
High School Diploma or Equivalent required A minimum of 1 year of maintenance experience required

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand, sit; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard reach, stoop kneel to install/move computer and warehouse equipment The employee may be required to lift up to 50 pounds at any given time. The employee may be required to constantly lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Involves walking or standing for long periods of time Specific vision abilities required by this job include near acuity at 20 inches or less due to work on computers and other devices While performing the duties of this job, the employee will experience a loud noise level (i.e. forklifts, semi-trucks, pallet jacks, conveyor belts, moving boxes, business office with computers, phone, and printers, light traffic, etc.) The work environment is loud at times, dusty at times, and the indoor temperature fluctuates by season The employee will operate and/or work near motorized handling equipment such as forklifts, order pickers, reach trucks, electric pallet jacks, conveyor controls, pallet turn tables, elevated dock doors, etc.
