This role is a good fit for someone who takes rigging and load security seriously and is comfortable running both forklifts and mobile cranes in a busy fabrication shop. What You'll Do Load, unload, and secure steel fabrication products for shipment to customers and for movement between in-house production areas (Blast Shop, Paint Shop, Tube Laser, Plate Lasers, Powder Coat Ovens) Operate forklifts and mobile cranes to move raw material, work-in-process, and finished steel products safely and efficiently Rig loads correctly using appropriate slings, chains, straps, and hardware for steel components of varying size and weight Inspect loads before transport to confirm proper securement and compliance with DOT/safety requirements Coordinate with shop supervisors and shipping/receiving staff to keep material moving on schedule Perform routine pre-use inspections and basic maintenance checks on forklifts and crane equipment Follow all OSHA and company safety procedures at all times What We're Looking For Experience operating forklifts required Experience operating mobile cranes required; crane certification a strong plus Solid understanding of rigging and load-securement practices, especially with steel materials Familiarity with a fabrication or manufacturing shop environment Strong attention to detail and safety-first mindset Ability to read basic shipping documents, load tickets, or work orders Reliable, able to work as part of a shop team
Pay:
$20.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 - 57.0 per week
