General Laborer Virginia Steel and Fabrication, Inc.

Monday-Friday, with overtime as needed About Virginia Steel and Fabrication Virginia Steel and Fabrication is a growing structural steel fabrication company serving commercial, industrial, infrastructure, and manufacturing customers throughout the Mid-Atlantic. Position Summary Virginia Steel and Fabrication is seeking dependable, hardworking General Laborers to support our fabrication and production operations. This position plays an important role in maintaining a safe, clean, and productive manufacturing environment while assisting skilled welders, fitters, machine operators, and fabricators. No previous steel fabrication experience is required. We are willing to train motivated individuals with a strong work ethic and positive attitude. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist with loading, unloading, and moving steel materials throughout the facility. Operate hand tools, power tools, and material handling equipment safely. Prepare materials for fabrication by cleaning, grinding, measuring, or staging components. Assist welders, fitters, and machine operators as directed. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Perform basic shop cleanup and housekeeping duties. Follow all safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements. Inspect materials and report damaged equipment or safety concerns. Perform other production and warehouse duties as assigned. Qualifications Required High school diploma or GED preferred but not required. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly. Ability to stand, bend, climb, kneel, and work on concrete floors for extended periods. Ability to work safely around heavy equipment and machinery. Reliable transportation and dependable attendance. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Preferred Manufacturing, warehouse, construction, or industrial experience. Forklift or overhead crane experience (training available). Experience using hand and power tools. Physical Requirements Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Stand and walk for extended periods. Perform repetitive movements involving hands and arms. Work indoors in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, temperature fluctuations, and moving equipment. Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
