About the
Role:
Skillforce is seeking General Labor-Journeyman for an ongoing project in Culpeper, VA. This position involves assisting skilled tradespeople, preparing and cleaning construction sites, and handling materials and equipment to ensure efficient workflow.
Pay Range:
$25-30 per hour
Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must have a REAL ID (An upgraded version of your driver's license or ID card that has a star in the right corner.) Must be able to pass a background screen. Must be a US Citizen. Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting heavy materials and standing for extended periods. Basic understanding of construction site safety practices and willingness to follow safety protocols. Reliable attendance and punctuality to meet project schedules.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in construction or a related labor-intensive field. Familiarity with common construction tools and equipment. Basic knowledge of construction site operations and terminology. Certification in OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour construction safety training. Valid driver s license and reliable transportation to and from the job site.
Responsibilities:
Assist with loading, unloading, and moving construction materials and equipment on-site. Prepare construction sites by cleaning debris, setting up scaffolding, and ensuring materials are readily available. Support skilled tradespeople such as carpenters, electricians, and masons by providing necessary tools and assistance. Operate basic hand and power tools safely and efficiently under supervision. Follow all safety guidelines and protocols to maintain a hazard-free work environment. Perform manual tasks such as digging, lifting, and carrying heavy objects as required. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the worksite throughout the project duration. Report any safety hazards, equipment malfunctions, or other concerns to supervisors promptly.
