Job Summary L & E Meridian, a full- service Direct Mail Production company located in Springfield, VA, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Warehouseman for our busy Mail Department. For more than 40 years, L&E Meridian has been at the forefront of our industry in offering professional services specializing in high-volume data management, data processing, digital printing, and mail services. The shift is 2:30 pm to 11 pm. In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient handling, storage, and movement of mail and packages within our warehouse facility. Responsibilities Operate various warehouse equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, and order pickers; unload, and transport mail and packages efficiently. Manage inventory control through accurate stock counting, tracking using inventory management software, and maintaining organized storage areas. Assist with order picking, packing, shipping, and receiving processes to ensure timely fulfillment of mail orders. Follow safety regulations and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) during all manual handling and heavy lifting tasks. Support warehouse operations by stocking materials, conducting quality checks, and ensuring proper packaging standards are met. Collaborate with warehouse and Mail Room supervisors to optimize logistics workflows while adhering to OSHA safety standards and safety protocol guidelines. Skills Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts, and pallet jacks in a warehouse setting. Strong knowledge of warehouse distribution processes including shipping & receiving, order fulfillment, and inventory management software (e.g., AS400). Excellent manual handling skills with the ability to lift heavy items safely while following safety regulations. Basic math skills for counting stock and verifying shipment quantities accurately. Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Demonstrated understanding of safety procedures related to heavy equipment operation and materials handling equipment operation under OSHA standards.
