Job Description

Material Handler - 1st Shift RAM Tool, Inc. is an industry leader that specializes in custom machining and building of aluminum & zinc die cast dies. Our plant is a state of the art 80,000 square foot facility that is clean, safe, climate controlled, and the air is purified with Heat Steam units throughout the facility. Summary Our Material Handlers move raw materials, supplies or finished products inside the manufacturing facility, or between the transportation vehicle and the building using various types of equipment such as manual, automated, and semi-automated. Material handling process occurs on manufacturing shop floor, shipping and receiving and in material disposal. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Clean, debur, inspect, and package product for shipping. Examine products to verify conformance to quality standards. Read gauges or charts and record data obtained. Secures lifting attachments to materials and conveys load to destination Lift raw materials, finished products, and packaged items, manually or using hoists. Maintain an organized work environment while following all safety guidelines. Operate forklift to move product throughout facility. Loads, unloads, and moves materials within or near plant, yard, or work site. Reads work order or follows verbal instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved. Opens containers, using steel cutters, crowbar, claw-hammer, or other hand tools. Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand. Loads materials into vehicles and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit, using hand tools. Conveys materials from storage or work sites to designated area, using fork truck, hand truck, electric dolly or wheelbarrow. Counts, weighs, and records number of units of materials moved or handled on daily production sheet. Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales, or other containers. Stacks or assembles materials into bundles and bands bundles together, using banding machine and clincher. Lifts heavy objects by hand or using power hoist, and cleans work area, machines, and equipment, using broom, rags, and cleaning compounds, to assist machine operators. Education and/or Experience High School diploma or GED Qualifications & Skills Ability to coordinate various manufacturing activities. Physical Demands The physical demands of the job will include lifting, bending and sitting. Lifting to include picking up, pushing or pulling loads up to 50 pounds. Job Information Full-time position. 1st Shift / 40+ Hours per week PLUS ample overtime Hourly rate depends on individual's knowledge and experience.
