Material Handler

Job Description

As a Material Handler , you will be responsible to handle, move and store various non-hazardous and hazardous materials within a warehouse and yard facility. The main duty will include but is not limited to picking and packing material, loading and unloading different transport items, recording inventory statuses, and making sure deliveries properly match purchase orders. You will maintain a current forklift certification and follow all company safety guidelines. This position requires patience and steadiness, along with a teamwork mentality. Duties/Responsibilities Verify the accuracy of quantity and quality of incoming and outgoing deliveries Label/Scan every product and put away accordingly Identify, pull, and wrap the correct products per the customer's order Handle returns by completing documentation and other required communication Keep all material handling equipment in the best condition by conducting regular maintenance and logs. Cycle counting and identifying any inventory issues Communicating issues that would include missing and/or damaged material as well as material that may have been pulled or received incorrectly Load/unload trucks and rail cars Keep work areas neat and tidy Other work as directed
Required Skills/Abilities:
Follow all policies and procedures in the yard including sales, inventory and safety Participate in safety training Properly use and maintain equipment Lead by example, with first-hand knowledge of area of expertise Works well in a group setting Written and verbal communication skills Ability to handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously
Qualifications:
Forklift certification Knowledge of operating other warehouse machinery Excellent time management and organizational skills Critical thinking skills to quickly solve issues and/or problems Proficiency with prioritizing and meeting multiple deadlines
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift at least 70 pounds consistently throughout the day. Climb, kneel, reach or bend throughout the day Ability to work in hot/cold environments. Must wear safety gear, such as goggles and gloves, while performing work. Ability to operate all equipment on site as necessary

$43,680.00 - $49,920.00 per year
