Job Description

Job Title:
Warehouse Worker Job Description This role supports a grain mill operation that mixes nutrients with various feed products for farmers. You will spend most of your time operating a sit-down forklift and the remainder performing general warehouse tasks such as pallet handling and truck loading. The position requires reliable, safety-focused material handling experience and a strong work ethic in a fast-paced, production-oriented environment. Responsibilities Operate a sit-down forklift safely and efficiently for approximately 60% of the workday. Handle material movement throughout the warehouse, including transporting, staging, and organizing products. Wrap pallets securely to prepare orders for storage or shipment. Load and unload trucks accurately and safely using a forklift and manual handling as needed. Stack pallets and arrange products in designated areas to maintain an organized warehouse layout. Follow all safety procedures while working in and around the grain mill and warehouse areas. Assist with general warehouse duties as assigned to support daily production and shipping schedules. Maintain a clean and orderly work area to ensure a safe and efficient work environment. Essential Skills At least 2 years of experience operating a forklift, preferably a sit-down forklift, in a warehouse or similar environment. At least 1 year of continuous job tenure in previous roles, demonstrating reliability and commitment. Proven material handling experience, including pallet wrapping, stacking, and truck loading/unloading. Ability to follow safety guidelines and operate equipment in a safe and controlled manner. Capability to work in a fast-paced, production-oriented warehouse environment. Comfort working in conditions where outdoor weather may affect the indoor environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience working with animal feed products. Previous experience working on a farm or in an agricultural setting. Familiarity with grain mill or similar industrial operations. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately. Willingness to work different shifts if needed to support operational demands. Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Madison, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
