Job Description

Our client is looking for a Landfill Environmental Technician in East Peoria, IL! This is a 6-month contract opportunity offering a pay rate of $20.00/hour
Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30
PM Position Overview:
The contractor will be responsible for managing, receiving, organizing, tracking, and logging non-hazardous waste, hazardous waste, universal waste, and recyclable materials. This role requires a balance of 80% physical labor and 20% desk work.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and organize various types of waste and recycling materials.

Maintain accurate records and logs for all waste and recyclable materials.

Operate forklifts and other trade tools as needed.

Ensure compliance with waste management protocols and procedures.

Work cooperatively with WM team members and CAT employees, taking direction from the immediate supervisor.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Strong time management and organizational skills.

Ability to work independently and communicate effectively.

Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Physical ability to lift up to 30 lbs.

Experience operating a forklift and other trade tools.
Key Interactions:
The contractor will collaborate closely with the team members and CAT employees while following the guidance and instructions of their immediate supervisor.
Immediate Goals:
Maintain organized operations for non-hazardous waste, hazardous waste, universal waste, and recyclable materials.

In-person interviews required.
PPE Requirements:
Workers must have steel-toe safety boots that are leather and at least 6 inches high at the ankle. Additional PPE will be provided.
Special Requirements:
A photo ID is required for check-in with CAT security and to receive a badge.
