Role:
This position is responsible for supervising, performing, directing, and coordinating water production, water distribution, wastewater collection, and wastewater treatment operations for the City of Wahoo.
Key responsibilities include:
Supervising daily operations of the water and wastewater systems Assisting with staffing, scheduling, assigning work, and directing personnel Coordinating maintenance, repair, and operational activities Ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and licensing requirements Supporting laboratory analysis and system monitoring activities Responding to emergencies and performing duties on an on-call basis as needed ✅
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate's Degree and/or successful completion of sixty (60) semester credit hours from an accredited college or university with major coursework in water treatment and supply or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience Four (4) years of experience in water treatment and water supply operations, including laboratory analysis At least two (2) years of supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience Valid driver's license Ability to obtain and maintain a CDL, if required
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to report to the work site within 15 minutes under normal weather conditions
Required Certifications & Licenses:
Applicants must possess and maintain: State of Nebraska Water Plant Operator License Grade III State of Nebraska Class II Wastewater Operator Certification Applicants who do not currently hold the Class II Wastewater Operator Certification must be able to obtain it within twelve (12) months of employment.
