Location Flexibility :

Onsite Position Description Coordinates and schedules equipment, materials, and personnel for special transportation jobs and activities. Leads the work of specialized maintenance and technical workers. Work requires responding to emergency notification on an as needed basis. Work requires extensive contact with private entities. Employees at this level perform work independently on assignments; however all unusual issues are referred to the supervisor.

Essential Duties:

Assists in preparing and giving presentations to the public regarding area of responsibility. Assists in scheduling equipment, material and personnel necessary for a project Ensures projects follow established safety guidelines. Ensures vehicles are properly equipped and maintained. Handles public complaints. Trains employees on the use of equipment and procedures. Coordinates assignments and oversees the work of special jobs and contracted crews. Coordinates inventory and distribution of personal protective equipment, monthly safety related inspections, and completes safety incident related reports. Serves as a lead worker by scheduling daily work assignments; serving as a resource for complex questions and troubleshooting of problems; presenting operational updates to the supervisor; providing input on team members' career conversations; and approving leave requests to ensure operational coverage. Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

High School Grad or Equivalent in general education

Work Experience:

5 YEARS in Roadway maintenance, construction, traffic systems management, or related work (Experience can be satisfied by fulltime or prorated parttime equivalent)

Licenses and Certifications:

Mandatory:

Safety Impact Certificate Valid driver's license at the time of application. This position requires driving a state vehicle.

• Must have a Commercial Class "A" Driver's License with an "N" Endorsement or obtain a CDL "A" License within 120 calendar days after 6 months of continuous employment.

US Military License candidates must successfully obtain Texas Class "A" CDL within 120 days of employment.
