Disposal & Special Collections Division Director

Summary The Disposal & Special Collections Division Director is responsible for providing leadership and oversight to the special collection teams, recycling processing operations, lead analytical reporting, while creating operational dashboards that will track key performance indicators and budget reporting. The ideal candidate will possess strong managerial skills, strong analytical and accounting skills, experience in solid waste operations, and a commitment to environmental sustainability and excellent customer service. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Direct and oversees Brush, Bulk, and Roll-off collection operations, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery Provides direction and operational support to the recycling processing division Oversees departmental financial operations, including budgeting, billing, financial reporting, PCard processing, and purchase requisition entry Assists the Director with strategic planning initiatives and fiscal management Evaluates customer feedback to identify opportunities for service improvement Collaborates with the Director and key stakeholders to enhance operational performance and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction across solid waste services Directs recycling program initiatives to optimize processing efficiency and maximize material recovery Tracks and assesses recycling facility and program performance, implementing improvements to increase efficiency and participation Stays informed on industry trends and best practices related to recycling and waste diversion Partners with local government agencies, community organizations, and stakeholders to strengthen program visibility and community impact Ensures compliance with City policies, procedures, and safety standards Performs other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications Combination of education and/or experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in environmental studies, business management, public administration, or related field Five (5) years of experience in solid waste industry, recycling, public works, or a closely related field Three (3) years of experience working in a managerial role Licenses and Certifications Valid driver's license Thank you for your interest in the position.
