SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS
Maintain the plant, machinery, and its surroundings in compliance with Safety Quality Food institute (SQF) and Food Safety Procedures; follow the safety rules and company policies; provide support to the sanitation department management making sure to carry out all cleaning assignments. DUTIES Some of the duties of this position are those described below. This job description does not state or imply that the duties listed are the only duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Employees holding this position will be required to perform any other job-related duties as requested by management. Comply with all Plant, State and Federal OSHA, EPA, FDA, HACCP, and SQF regulations . Perform all FDA and SQF monitored Sanitation Duties according to our Master Sanitation Schedule. / Completion of plant daily housekeeping assignments. Completion of plant weekly general cleaning assignments. Completion of plant production down days assignments. Share cleaning skills with new employees. Record all tasks in our sanitation cleaning schedule form. Coordinate and facilitate the maintenance of the cleaning materials inventory. Perform basic maintenance tasks such as replacing/repairing rack sections, changing light bulbs, moving boxes and equipment. Comply with the quality assurance regulations, SQF, and food safety. Follow all safety procedures in a proper manner. Dress appropriately and wear all required personal protective equipment assigned (PPE). Use lockout/tag out devices and procedures as required. Wastewater management Compliance with the quality system, food safety, and SQF procedures. Other duties may be assigned based on department and business needs.
SPECIFIC SKILLS & ABILITIES
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be punctual, dependable and able to perform the essential duties and responsibilities satisfactorily and expeditiously. The candidate must be able to effectively work unsupervised, displaying a high level of initiation The candidate must be comfortable working alone, or as part of a team; and demonstrate leadership attributes that foster effective working relationships. The successful candidate must be able to understand all policies, procedures, instructions, rules and regulations (including all safety training and safety information) associated with this position which is written in English. In addition, the successful candidate must be able to appropriately respond to these and, where needed, provide reports, presentations, information or communications in English. Must demonstrate sound judgment. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
