SUMMARY:
In addition to the duties of a Sanitation Worker, the Sanitation Technician (3rd Shift) must follow all plant safety, Good Manufacturing Practices and Food Safety rules and regulations. Documentation and paperwork procedures must be followed as well as verbal and written instructions and guidelines according to the job requirements. The Sanitation Technician is responsible for maintaining sanitation of bottling line and facility. The Sanitation Technician may also back-up Sanitation Worker and Production Worker I during personnel shortages. This role does not have direct reports.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with Mizkan America safety policies, OSHA regulations, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), and SOP (Standard Operating Procedures).
Thoroughly disassembles, cleans and reassembles equipment and conveyors and return to operational state.
Execute thorough cleaning and sanitation procedures according to Mizkan protocols and regulatory guidelines.
- Maintains detailed records of sanitation activities, including cleaning schedules and sanitation logs.
Monitor wastewater system.
Consider all safety precautions and proper isolation of live circuits.
Using common maintenance equipment and hand tools. Take proper care of tools and equipment.
Utilize personal safety procedures when performing job duties, ensure that equipment is operating safely and has returned all safety guards.
After training, may be required to handle hazardous waste accumulation.
Temporary job assignments to other shifts and/or departments may be required to maintain production.
Must be able to work with hot water, pressure washers and steam system in a safe manner.
Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and notify supervisor when replenishment is needed.
Working with bio-hazards such as: blood borne pathogens, sewage, waste, etc.
Follow all safety rules to include but not limited to LOTO and keep area clean and in orderly condition.
Responsible for food product quality and safety.
EDUCATION
High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required
- Technical, trade school courses or certification, preferred
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
3 years of Sanitation experience within a food processing, bottling, liquid filling/blending and/or consumer goods manufacturing/packing environment preferred.
Must be proficient in use of handheld tools, such as hammers, screwdrivers, wrenches, etc.
Must have general knowledge of electrical test equipment such as multi-meters and ammeters.
Continuous mental and visual attention is required to perform duties, involving repetitive or diversified work requiring constant alertness or activity.
Basic mathematics skills required. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and perform simple division calculations.
Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new job-related software.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy required.
Effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
Must be respectful and work well with all levels of personnel.
Must be able to perform on-call duty on any shift and work overtime on short notice basis. Long-term, temporary assignments to any shift may be required to maintain manufacturing processes.
Ability to work in high temperatures (hot or cold), working at heights and exposure to strong smells, dust, gases, fumes and chemical or require personal protective equipment.
Ability to use Personal Protective Equipment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Physical aspects of the job as performed in an 8-hour workday.
- Must be able to see, sit, stand, walk, speak, hear, reach, bend, twist, ascend/ descend.
- Ability to pull, push, lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

SUMMARY:
The Bulk Operator ( rotating shift and weekends ) must follow all plant safety, Good Manufacturing Practices and Food Safety rules and regulations. Documentation and paperwork procedures must be followed as well as verbal and written instructions and guidelines according to the job requirements. The Bulk Operator is responsible for producing and moving liquid mixes in a safe and sanitary manner utilizing pumps, hoses, piping, etc. to meet production and shipping schedules. The Bulk Operator will back-up Sanitation as needed. This role does not have direct reports.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with Mizkan America safety policies, OSHA regulations, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), and SOP (Standard Operating Procedures).
- Responsible for following the production guidelines and instructions diligently.
- Assist with the startup, preparation of the equipment and materials, monitor and shut down each phase of the batch operation. After training, ability to complete all steps without assistance.
- Develop the skill set to perform field inspections of the tanks, pumps meters, valves, lines and motors to assure that all systems in the process are in working order.
- Assist with the troubleshooting abnormal conditions and notify appropriate personnel as situation dictates. After training, ability to complete all steps without assistance.
- Monitor production processes through system, determine problems and adjust to maintain desired operating conditions.
Conduct periodic laboratory analysis to monitor processes and log results. Ability to grasp basic knowledge of acetator, fermentation, and Romicon operations. Conduct cleaning procedures of all work areas following the master cleaning schedule. Unload/load liquid bulk shipments, accurately log by following the weight process. Participate in month end cycle counts. Responsible for flushing, and/or cleaning of tanks, equipment, containers, and utensils as required. Follow all safety rules to include but not limited to LOTO and keep area clean and in orderly condition. Responsible for food product quality and safety. After comprehensive training, ability to demonstrate comprehension of above items through testing and hands on review.
EDUCATION
- High school diploma or G.
E.D. equivalent required Forklift certification preferred
